What
can I
help
you with?
I am able to draw on a number
of therapeutic techniques in my professional practice,
3
of which I have outlined in more detail below.
I am also a fully
qualified and registered Occupational
Therapist and
have completed further
training in Solution Focused Brief Therapy
and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
These along with Clinical Hypnotherapy, NLP
and EFT can treat/help with any number of conditions including the
following:-
Confidence,
self-esteem, performance, stress, anxiety, depression,
phobias, OCD,
fears, trauma, anger, weight loss, addictions, eating disorders, pain, chronic
disease (ME, IBS , arthritis and many autoimmune disorders),
well-being,
fertility, childbirth, childrens issues
and much, much
more....
I can confidently say that just about anything can be
addressed with one
or a combination of the above approaches,
all I require from
you is an open mind and a will to succeed!

What is
Hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis is a an altered
state of conciousness: a profoundly relaxed state of mind achieved through
focused concentration where we are able to bypass our thinking brain and
communicate suggestions to our unconcious mind.
This is the part of our
brain which filters our experience in terms of what we think, the decisions we
make and how we ultimately feel: literally the programmes we run.
If you
want to experience hypnosis and can follow simple instructions, under the
guidance of a clinical hypnotherapist you can access that powerful mindset to
effect positive personal change in many areas of personal healing and
development.
What if I can't be
hypnotised?
A common misconception is that hypnosis is something
someone does to you
but in fact all hypnosis is self hypnosis
.
And
believe it or not, you have already experienced hypnotic trance .
Remember
the last time you drove your car to your destination and couldn't
remember the journey ? It's commonly known as ˜highway hypnosis", your
conscious mind was somewhere else whilst your unconscios mind drove the car; or
the focused mindset you achieve when engrossed in a good book or staring at a
fire.
So hypnosis is something you already know how to do..... it's all
about accessing that relaxed state of mind whilst focusing on what you
desire,
allowing positive change to take place quickly and
easily.
What is EFT?
EFT is based on a new discovery that has provided thousands with relief
from pain, diseases and emotional issues. Simply stated, it is an emotional
version of acupuncture except needles aren't necessary. Instead, you stimulate
well established energy meridian points on your body by tapping on them with
your fingertips. The process is easy to memorize and is portable so you can do
it anywhere. It launches off the EFT Discovery Statement
which says...
"The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption
in the body's energy system."
And because our physical
pains and diseases are so obviously connected with our emotions the following
statement has also proven to be true...
"Our unresolved negative emotions are major
contributors to most physical pains and
diseases."
This common sense approach
draws its power from
(1) Time-honoured Eastern
discoveries
that have been around for over 5,000 years
and
(2) Albert Einstein, who told us back in the
1920's, that everything (including our bodies)
is composed of energy.
These ideas have been largely ignored by
Western Healing Practices and that is why
EFT often
works where nothing else will.
EFT is now becoming a
large part of my practice and can be combined beautifully with the language and
specialised techniques of both hypnotherapy and NLP, often producing quite
stunning results.
It is currently my first line treatment
for anxiety, fears & phobias, PTSD and increasingly, pain.
What is
NLP?
N =
Neuro (nervous system/brain)
Refers to the neurological process
of seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling and tasting.
The essence of living
experience.
L =
Linguistic (the words we use)
Is the way we all use language to
interpret, represent and organise our experience
and communicate with
others.
P =
Programming
Refers to the strategies and techniques we use to
organise these processes
and go on to produce results.
Originally developed in the 1970s by and John Grinder
& Richard Bandler, based on a set of very precise ways to identify how
someone who is successful
uses their brain to achieve
results.
They studied some of the worlds most effective communicators,
Virginia Satir (family therapist), Milton Erickson (Psychiatrist and
Hypnotherapist) and
Fritz Perls (creator of Gestalt therapy).
They were
able to elicit & simplify the powerful language patterns and and cognitive
strategies that consistently achieve results . They then went on to show how
this can be successfully applied in a clinical, business and educational
environment.
Such techniques have underpinned the work of self development
gurus such as
Tony Robbins and Paul McKenna.
In education NLP is the
Science behind what is known as Accelerated Learning.
NLP is the study and
manifestation of excellence, how successful business managers get consistent
results, how top sports men and women reach the top of their
game and how healthy people can heal from illnesses
quickly.
